Abstract

This paper addresses some of the real and symbolic interacting dimensions of the so-called "refugee crisis in Europe", which was declared in 2015 and is still ongoing. Through a methodological strategy that combines in an articulated way, qualitative research techniques with the use of secondary sources, a critical analysis of the phenomenon with the focus placed in Portugal is proposed, with the aim of mapping what the social perceptions are about it.
